Fatale sarà un match tra veterani tra Spagna e Portogallo: a seguito di un brutto intervento di un giocatore avversario Peyroteo si infortunerà seriamente ad un gamba, che gli verrà amputata. Non si riprenderà mai del tutto, morendo all’età di 60 anni.

Dal punto di vista tattico Fernando Peyroteo è il classico centro-attacco. Si muove poco, e lo fa solamente nell’area avversaria.
